Hi, I’m Matt and I Need Your Support

Hello my name is Matt.  Like many of you, my life changed on January 20th.  It didn’t change in any tangible way, I cooked my daughter breakfast like any other morning.  My house didn’t fall down.  I had my health.

Nevertheless, that day was a moment of change for me.  That was the day I decided I could no longer be a passive voice in American politics.

Like so many parents, I could no longer assume the country my children grew up in would be more open and just than the country I grew up in. Unless I was willing to fight for it.

On January 20th we mourned. On January 21st we began to raise up and raise hell.

Working with progressive families across the nation, I’m proud to launch Raising Our Future PAC, a Political Action Committee dedicated to making a country we will be proud to raise our children in.

Over the next 18 months, Raising Our Future will be raising money and contributing to candidates that work hard for our three simple beliefs:  Working families deserve our support, every child deserves a world class education and our country should finally deliver on the most basic promise that all people are created equal, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or creed.

In the five months since Donald Trump was inaugurated, we’ve seen an administration and a congress that rejects those simple, commonsense ideals. In his first budget, Trump has proposed an $11 billion cut in education.  Cuts that would gut after school programs, funding for schools in low income areas, as well as money for adult literacy and workforce training programs. Hundreds of millions would be cut from student loan programs, making college unattainable for many fellow citizens. Furthermore, it redirects more than a billion dollars away from public schools and towards vouchers for private schools. Most horrifying of all?  Education Secretary DeVos refuses to rule out funding private schools that discriminate against LGBTQ students.

Government action for working families have been even worse. The administration has proposed cutting funding for childcare for low income students in college. Their healthcare plan is slated to remove 23 million off of insurance and again force low income families to choose between healthcare and other necessities.

We cannot be silent or passive.  We must be loud and passionate. That is why I am asking you to help us by being a charter member of Raising Our Future PAC. Your donation of $25, $50, $100, $500 or $1000 will help us build an organization that identify and support candidates that will fight for our beliefs.

When you donate to Raising Our Future, you can rest assured that you are getting more return on your dollar than any political organization in the country. We are a group of passionate volunteers. No salaries are paid by Raising Our Future PAC and our overhead is minimal.  Every single dollar goes to candidates that share our beliefs and getting our message out to public.

By raising $50,000 we can make a difference in enough races to change the face of congress in 2018.

So join us as we embark on making a better nation for all of us. Together we are Raising Our Future.

Raising Our Future PAC: For education. For working families. For justice. For everyone.
